"Reformed theology" sounds intimidating. People hear it and think of five-point Calvinism, Latin theological terms, and 400-year-old confessions written in language nobody speaks anymore.

It doesn't have to be that way. Reformed theology is, at its core, a way of reading the Bible that puts God's grace front and center. And StoryReserve has a growing library of resources that explain it in plain English — no seminary degree required.

What Is Reformed Theology?

Reformed theology is a stream of Christian thought that traces back to the Protestant Reformation (hence "Reformed"). Its big ideas:

• Sola Scriptura — The Bible is the ultimate authority for faith and life
• Sola Gratia — Salvation is by grace alone, not by good works
• Sola Fide — We are justified by faith alone, not by merit
• Solus Christus — Christ alone is the mediator between God and humanity
• Soli Deo Gloria — Everything exists for God's glory

These aren't cold doctrines. They're the warm, life-giving truths that Martin Luther rediscovered when he was terrified of a God he thought he could never please.
